Burdett Battles to take Ffos Las Thriller

A tremendous display from the Syps UK owned juvenile BURDETT at Ffos Las yesterday saw the Inns of Court colt prevail by the barest of margins in a three way go to emerge victorious in the restricted maiden contest.

Having made his racecourse debut at Epsom only three weeks ago, BURDETT saw out the extended seven furlong contest in breathtaking fashion, holding off the similarly experienced Chequers Court by a nose in a protracted battle up the straight, whilst newcomer Tamfara rattled home on the outside all to no avail.

This was a pleasing effort on testing ground and BURDETT clearly has great heart, one that Jack believes will stand him in great stead going forward.

“A terrific display from a cracking colt. It was exciting but when that happens you’re always praying for the line to arrive. I’m relieved he got the job done and all credit to Saffie Osborne who gave him a great ride.

“She kept asking and he kept responding - these are the types who will always give you everything and he showed a tremendous attitude for such an inexperienced youngster.”
