A Flying Start to 2025 with a Spectacular Six Winners in a Row For Team JCR
The last few weeks have been nothing short of spectacular for the team here at West Ilsley Stables with the last six of our seven runners coming out on top.
Our fabulous winning streak was kicked off with Hey Boo winning on debut at Chelmsford on Saturday the 22nd of February. The 3yo filly by Iffraaj won her maiden, readily going away over 7f under George Bass.
Urban Lion also made the journey to Chelmsford on Thursday the 27th of February where the 4yo made his second career, course and distance victory for owner Jonathan Mitchell.
The following day, Friday the 28th of February, saw Ferrous head to Lingfield Park where the 5yo son of Dark Angel completed his third career win for owners Recycled Products Limited. Ferrous ran on inside the final furlong to beat his rivals by a length and ¼, ridden by Tom Marquand who said: ‘Ferrous has done that well in a smart race. It's his first go round here and he took a bit of getting round the bend but he's in a great spot’.
Last Shamardal was up next at Newcastle on Saturday 1st of March. After an encouraging third over course and distance, he built on his encouraging debut to get off the mark. He hit the line strongly to win by a length and ¼ under George Bass for owner Jaber Abdullah.
Tuesday 4th of March brought Miss Attitude a striking win for owners Norman Court Stud. Even after missing the break, she showed terrific speed under Charles Bishop and fought her way to first by a neck. She showed career-best form with a first-time tongue-tie combined with cheekpieces on her AW debut.
Our final winner Lightening Mann stunned the Lingfield course with his performance on Wednesday 5th of March. After being absent since finishing 5th at Doncaster in July, made a successful return to the track up in trip on his AW debut for a stable in top form under Edward Greatrex. Great victory for Opulence Thoroughbreds and many more to come.
The past few weeks efforts saw Jack Channon heading the racing posts hot trainers list published on the 13th of March, with a 5-5 wins to runs ratio in the last 14 days and 100% strike rate.
Thrilling results for all connections and our hard working staff here at West Ilsley Stables. The recent success is testament to the hard work of the entire team. Here's to hoping our winning streak continues and all fingers are crossed for the rest of the season.
