The visor is pulled out of the Kitbag for Wolves victory

That’s the way to do it!

A remarkable day saw our much revered and admired Website Editor/ Staff Housing Demolisher have his tenner on to record his first punt of the season.

That means that his daily runs to the Screwfix depot in Abingdon have finally paid off. Not because he’s too busy, but because he’s a somewhat dysfunctional idiot who lacks the ability to think further than his next cup of tea in the workshop.

Anyway, that’s not the point of this website, it’s all about the owners primarily (M.R Channon) and the trainer (J.A Channon).

The fact that I don’t have to be nice to either of them, mainly because they’re stuck with me and that both rely on me as a warning of what they could have become, means that I can say what I want.

So let’s focus on KITBAG!

He’s a smasher. Not a star of the summer turf but a star all the same at this time of the year. He’s always trying and it’s credit to both him and our own George Bass for tonight’s victory at Wolverhampton.

From the daunting draw from stall 10 over tonight’s six furlong, Class 6 contest for three year olds and over, both KITBAG and his pilot went forward from the off before taking a breather round the turn for home.

KITBAG, rejuvenated in a first time visor, retained his impetus and positivity from the off all the way to the line, securing success by a length with the fast finishing Kangaroo and Mc’s Wag filling the places in behind.

The trainer is on holiday so I haven’t got a quote for you, so I’ll include my own.

“I’m chuffed my tenner was on and I watched it after wallpapering the walls in Bungalow No.2. We’re putting a new bathroom in tomorrow and the 3/1 I got means I’ll be able to get some bathroom sealant from Screwfix without bothering the hectic admin staff in the office until our Tattersalls Sales accounts are settled in April.

When you win, you sometimes lose. Such is life.

Well done to all the team - but first and foremost - well done to me.
