Sixties Chic secures Lingfield success in eye-catching fashion
A last gasp, but thoroughly convincing performance by the Box 41 owned SIXTIES CHIC today saw the daughter of Sixties Icon record her second win inside three weeks, sandwiched between a second placed outing at the Surrey track only ten days ago.
Sixties Chic was edged out by So Chic by no more than a head on that occasion, but having dropped back to six furlongs today, she produced a rattling late run in the hands of Charlie Bishop to account for Maharajas Express and Northcliff in the dying strides to prevail by three parts of a length.
Granted, a 0-65 contest as we enter the festive period might not represent the stuff of legends, but Jack was thrilled for the filly he bred and the whole show at the minute, with very much an eye on next year.
“That was very pleasing because she’s held her form very well having been kept busy since October.
“Box 41 has always been a great sporting set of people and the colours remind everyone of the likes of Halicarnassus and I want the partnership to get back to that level of competition.
“With that in mind, I’m putting together three yearlings to hit the track next year in a brand new partnership for Box 41 - and I think it’d be remiss of me to celebrate today’s win and not send out the message that we are open for business!
“All of our contact details are on this website, so get in touch, because there’s a lot of fun to be had in 2024 and the group of horses I’ve put together have me hoping that another ‘Hali’ could well be waiting in the wings.”
