Flash Bardot backs up Newbury success at Catterick

The Six or Sticks Partnership are having plenty of fun and it’s no wonder as Flash Bardot has flourished in the autumn with success at Newbury a month ago before a long trip north today paid off when the daughter of Sixties Icon took the Class 4 mile and a half event at Catterick.

Catterick is a very happy hunting ground for the yard at the minute although Jack’s 100% record there was ended by Sixties Chic’s third place earlier on this afternoon!

Whilst the trip up there is something of a trek, so was the track but in heavy ground, FLASH BARDOT relished the conditions and, as she did at Newbury, she travelled best of all and cruised to the front under George Bass and romped away to win by plenty.

In the form she’s in and the ground conditions very much in her favour at this time of year, and Jack is likely to send her to Newbury on Friday to take her chance under a penalty.

“She did that in a similar style to her Newbury win last month, so we’ll see what the race looks like at the declaration stage.

“She obviously loves dig in the ground and, being by Sixties and out of a mare we know well, stamina is very much her forte.

“The Six or Sticks gang are loving their racing at the moment, not that they’ve ever been short on enthusiasm, and it looks like their days out are far from over this season!

“They’re a great bunch and always great fun - long may it continue!”
